    Dear team ,

please check the solution of chapter 5 question number 5.25, where i have understand the solution except the last line where it states that the value of the value of chi^2 is less than 0.025.

please explain how it is less than 0.025 with 40 degree of freedom

    regards

Turn to page 168 - the \(\chi^2_{40}\) is listed there.

Sorry , But I Have Turned To Page Number 168 Of Blue Book , But I Am Not Getting The Valu 0.025

  4. Please tell how to calculate the value from it. As chi^2_{40} have many values mentioned but not the value shown in solution.

I think you will notice from the tables that for d.f. 40, chi-square value at 0.025 tail probability is 59.34 and at 0.01 tail probability is 63.69.

You are required to compute the tail probability for x = 60.

Considering the above two numbers, you can guess that the tail probability will lie between 0.01 and 0.025, probably just less than 0.025.
