Impact of Covid-19 on ActEd's services (advice last updated on 1 April 2020)
Mock Exam (and Y2 Marking)
Following the IFoA's notification of new exam dates, we have revised our Mock Exam final deadline dates as follows:
Final deadline date
|CP2, CP3||Wednesday 25 March 2020|
|CB2, CP1, SP1, SP5, SP7, SP8, SP9||Tuesday 7 April 2020|
|CB1, SP2, SP4, SP6, SA1, SA2, SA3, SA4, SA7||Tuesday 14 April 2020|
Given the high volume of scripts we expect to receive just before the deadline dates above, we recommend that you submit your script(s) as early as possible.
If you have decided not to sit an exam in April then you can cancel any unused Mock Exam Marking up until the new final deadline date.
For the CS and CM exams, we will automatically defer any unused Mock Exam and Assignment Y2 Marking to the September exam session. If instead you wish to cancel your unused CS or CM Mock Exam Marking with a credit returned to the bill-payer, then please let us know by 6 April 2020.
Given that many of you won't have access to scanners whilst working at home, we will also be more flexible with the format of scripts we accept. For example, we will accept typed answers if it’s possible for you to answer the questions that way. Feel free to be innovative. As long as what you submit is easy to read then it should be OK. However, please continue to submit your script in the standard format (PDFs for most subjects - both MS Word and Google Docs enable users to create pdfs) – but let us know if that isn't possible and we will work with you to find an alternative solution.
13-month access to online courses delivered via our virtual learning environment (eg PBOR and Online Classroom)
CS and CM Exams only: If your 13-month access to an online course expires after the original exam date, please let us know if you would like us to extend your access to the next exams.
All ActEd staff are now working remotely and so we would appreciate your patience if we take a little longer to respond than normal. Please direct all new general queries to ActEd@bpp.com and accounts queries to ActEdAccounts@bpp.com. Please do not telephone the office as your call will not be answered.
At this stage we do not know whether deliveries of printed goods will continue but they are likely to be significantly impacted or delayed. Therefore we recommend the use of eBooks where possible. We definitely cannot send items to students living in any of India, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Myanmar and Kosovo and therefore will not accept any orders for printed materials from these countries.
