Hi I'm sitting ST4 in September but I haven't yet studied CA1. However, the ST4 syllabus objectives refer to "with reference to the actuarial control cycle, ..." as do some previous exam questions. I haven't come across the ACC in any of the subjects I've studied so far - I think it's covered in CA1. Am I required to know what the ACC is for ST4? Would you recommend that I borrow someone's CA1 notes and learn it? Or should I just concentrate on the stuff that's actually covered in ST4 and hope nothing on the ACC comes up?! Thanks
Firstly, you cannot legitimately borrow anyone else's notes. If you want to read the ACC, you could buy just the core reading. But you may be able to get by with picking up the bits in past papers though they may ask something that hadn't previously been asked. Control cycle basically is about: Knowing the environment specifying your problem developing your solution monitoring acting professionally It is unusual to do ST before CA1. But I'm sure you have enough with ST. Choice has to be yours.
