Are we allowed to insert an Excel table in word to complete calculations for profit testing ?

    Hi Dexter,
You can use Excel to do the calculations but don't embed a spreadsheet in the the Word document. It would be fine to cut and paste the values into Word but ensure you also present enough working to show the markers what you've done. Eg include a heading row that spells out the formula used like: Inv ret = 004 * (P-E).

Are we definitely sure such copying and pasting is allowed?

Yes, as long as you are just moving across values or working that you have produced yourself in the exam time then it's fine.

    Hi Darrell,

sorry for the confusion here.. just want to double check one thing.

you say its ok to copy the "values" accross to word. Im sure its ok to actually copy the table youve created into the word doc is it ?(ensuring to insert it as a ms word table & not an embedded s/s?). Or do you mean we would need to physically create a table in word and start copying across or values 1 by 1 into the created word table?

You don't need to do it one by one. Depending on the version of Word and the complexity of what you are copying, I think it often defaults to copying in the values without any linking anyway - just worth being careful that you don't end up with an embedded s/s.
    Good luck.
