    Hi

I am beginning to make some headway with the course but (like many I suspect) a little daunted by the questions on ch 11 & 12. Looking at the ASET it seems like it isnt very regularly tested but counts for big marks when it does.

Do people think that these chapters are worth the time to get completly on top of them (if even possible!!) and if not where is attention best focused within the chapters - just learn the bookwork or particular types of numerical questions?

    Thanks

Hi. Apologies for the delay in replying.

Ch 11 and 12 are daunting - but you do need to have a reasonable grasp of the material in case there is a relevant exam question.

Hopefully as you get into it you will find it is not as bad as you first think. Concentrate on the basics and principles, rather than worrying about the fine detail and proofs.

Bear in mind the examiners can ask you to value any asset (not just those in Ch 11-12)!

We do cover this material in the tutorials if you are attending one. Alternatively the ST5 ASET may help explain how this material has been examined in recent exam papers.

    Best wishes.

If you learn all the core reading (good practise Q is Q2, S09), and do all the Q&A Bank and X assignment calculation questions, and all the exam questions that contain the calculation questions, you'll be as well prepared as anyone else.
