Why did the IoA/FoA stop awarding the physical certificate?

Hi, I just want to ask if there was any communication from the profession regarding the reason why this subject's name had to change from Certificate in Derivatives to just ST6, and also why did the profession stop awarding the Certificate given that another 'stand alone' subject, ST9 was introduced that does award the CERA.

Could it be that the outside world was not recognising the CiD or what?
