Mock Exams
Overview
A Mock Exam is available in the subjects for which we produce core study materials. It is included in the Combined Materials Pack. It includes two papers for Subjects CM1-2, CS1-2, CP1 and CP2 and one paper for each of the other subjects. The Mock Exam can be purchased with or without marking.
The documents required for the CP2 and CP3 Mock Exams can be found on the CP2 page or CP3 Mock Exam page.
Mock Exams and Additional Mock Packs are only available in eBook format, not print.
Additional Mock Pack
The Additional Mock Pack (AMP) consists of two further mock exams in all subjects. It is ideal if you are retaking and have already sat the Mock Exam, or if you just want some extra question practice. Marking Vouchers can be used if you would like the additional mocks marked by ActEd. AMP is only available as an eBook.

CS and CM Paper B Mock Exams
You need to produce your answers to the CS and CM Mock Exams in a Word document (CS) or Excel document (CM). If you wish to submit your mocks for marking then you need to start from a template document. These templates are available below.

ASET
Overview
ActEd Solutions with Exam Technique (ASET) contains exam papers along with ActEd"s full solutions including techniques for tackling exam questions.
Most ASETs are available in printed format or as an eBook (CB1, CB2 and SA1 is eBook only). EBooks can be purchased as an addition to the printed product or as a standalone product.
The tables below show which papers will be included in each subject.

Flashcards
Overview
The A6-sized Flashcards cover the key points of the course that most students like to commit to memory and are an excellent supplement to our other study materials.
Each flashcard has a question on one side and the answer on the reverse. We recommend that you use the cards actively and test yourself as you progress through the course.
Flashcards are available as eBooks as well as a printed product and are available in Subjects CB1-2, CM1-2, CS1-2, CP1, SP1-2, SP4-5, SP7-9, and SA2-4 and SA7.

Revision Notes
Overview
Our Revision Notes have been designed with input from students to help you revise efficiently. They are suitable for first-time sitters who have worked through the ActEd Course Notes or for retakers, who should find them much more useful and challenging than simply reading through the course again.
Revision Notes are available in printed format or as an eBook. EBooks can be purchased as an addition to the printed product or as a stand-alone product.
Revision Notes comprise a set of A5 booklets - perfect for revising on the train or tube to work. Each booklet covers one main theme of the course and typically includes:
- Core Reading with a set of integrated short questions to develop your bookwork knowledge
- up to ten years of relevant past exam questions with concise solutions
- other useful revision aids.
Revision Notes are available in Subjects CM1-2, CS1-2, CP1, SP1-2, SP4, SP5 and SP7-9.

Sound Revision
Overview
It is reported that only 30% of information that is read is retained but this rises to 50% if the information is also heard.
Sound Revision is a set of audio files, designed to help you become more familiar with the most important aspects of the course. The audio files are split into a number of manageable topics based on the chapters in the Course Notes and will be made available to download through our Virtual Learning Environment. The recordings are perfect for use on-the-go or where taking folders and course notes is not practical.
Sound Revision is only currently available in Subject CP1, SP2, SP4 and SA2.

The Vault
Overview
The Vault contains up to 10 years of exam questions, with both ActEd and IFoA solutions*. The questions are broken down by topic and by year. ActEd solutions include not only a valid answer to the question, but also comments to help with exam technique - including references to relevant course material. Where appropriate, we've also included alternative valid approaches. These solutions correspond to those in ActEd's ASET product.
The Vault can be used to practise exam questions and to gain a feel for the depth and breadth of knowledge required for the exam. You may want to work through some of the older questions by topic to improve your understanding of each part of the course. You can then work through the more recent papers as practice exams, attempting some under exam conditions as additional mocks. We recommend working through the questions actively, ie attempting the questions before reading the solutions.
The Vault is accessed online via The Hub and is available in all subjects except CP2, CP3, SA1 and SA7. Students have access for up to 13 months.
The ActEd ASET solutions are updated for syllabus changes to the Course Notes for a few years following each exam. After this time, no further updates are made. So, The Vault contains the current ASET solutions for recent exam questions, and the most recently updated ASET solutions for older exam questions. Therefore, when using the older solutions, there may have been subsequent syllabus changes to the Course Notes (eg chapter names and numbers or Core Reading) that could impact the solution. If the syllabus changes are more extensive and a question is no longer examinable, a warning will be shown and/or the question will not be shown in the Vault.
An eBook of ASET solutions is also contained within The Vault. This eBook is intended to allow offline access to questions and ActEd solutions and increase accessibility, eg for those who have difficulty reading text in The Vault.
* For 2025, The Vault for Subject CB2 contains questions from the 2014-2022 exams and other subjects contain questions from the 2014-2023 exams. There are no ActEd solutions to the 2018 exams.
